Victoria Station Approach, Manchester, United Kingdom, M3 1PB

Just over 500 years since Martin Luther railed against the Catholic church, the Reverend Ed Glinert will keep the faith on this special day with a tour around the city’s holy buildings: the Cathedral, the College of Priests, the Protestant church, the Unitarian chapel, the Reform synagogue …

We will also journey into the heart of Manchester’s religious history. We will hear how Roman Catholic priests were hanged in front of what is now Manchester Cathedral. How Anglicised Jews would give their eastern European brethren half a crown at Victoria station to sod off to Liverpool. How a schism in the Anglican world about meat-eating led to the founding of the vegetarian movement. How those fine gents from the Orange Order with their bowler hats would march through the Catholic areas.

Keep the faith!
